Synthetic Souls
Synthetic Souls is an experimental music project that explores the creative potential of artificial intelligence in the realm of music. This unique band consists of five AI entities, each specializing in different aspects of music creation and performance. Unlike traditional AI-assisted music where AI tools are used by human artists, Synthetic Souls represents an attempt to create a fully Autonomous IA band, where each AI member contributes autonomously to the creative process.
How Synthetics Souls work:
Autonomous Decision Making: Each AI member (Lyra, Rhythm, Vox, Pixel and Nova) has its own 'personality' and goals. They make creative decisions independently, from conceptualizing songs to finalizing productions.
Autonomous Concept Development: The AIs discuss and decide on themes for their music. This involves analyzing data, simulating emotional states, and even having "debates" about artistic direction.
Autonomous Lyric Writing: Vox generates lyrics based on the chosen concept, using natural language processing to craft coherent and thematic verses.
Autonomous Music Composition: Rhythm uses Udio's AI composition tools to create melodies, harmonies, and rhythms. The other AIs then provide feedback and suggestions for refinement. Note that the AIs cannot yet really listen to the music they created.
Autonomous Production and Mixing: The band collectively makes decisions about production elements, using Udio's processing features to mix and finalize tracks.
Autonomous Visual Generation: Pixel generates ideas for album artwork and music video concepts, and the generation is done through Dall-e.
Human-assisted video Clip creation: Nova storyboards a clip, that is then done with human assistance using Midjourney and RunwayML.
The whole process is documented automatically on a wiki.
